Procurement Netherlands-based North Atlantic Industries (NAI) has signed a letter of intent for 25 firm and 25 options on the American Utilicraft FF-1080-200 freighter feeder aircraft. NAI plans to act as distributor for the $10 million twin-turboprop aircraft in Europe, South-East Asia, India, Ethiopia and Mongolia.The letter of intent is subject toNAI making a$1 million refundable deposit by 30August. This will allow Lawrenceville, Georgia-based American Utilicraft to begin constructing a prototype, which it plans to fly by the end of 2002. Aerostructures will design and build the airframe as a risk-sharing partner.
