The US National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has issued a survey to operators offering air tour and sightseeing flights under US Federal Aviation Regulations Part 135 and Part 91. These operations are the subject of an FAA proposed rulemaking that requires virtually all commercial air tour or sightseeing flights to be certificated under air carrier regulations. The survey is designed "to raise the level of awareness about the FAA proposal and the adverse impact it will have on hundreds of small businesses nationwide", NATA says. To date, more than 1,500 "overwhelmingly negative" public comments have been submitted to the FAA, says NATA.
