Aviation Partners Boeing is forming a joint venture with FlexSys to commercialise the latter’s patented wing morphing technology. The new company, Aviation Partners FlexSys (APF), will develop the FlexFoil variable geometry control surface mechanisms that Ann Arbor, Michigan-based FlexSys has been working on since 2000. Meanwhile, Aviation Partners Boeing also announced at NBAA that the fifth in-service Boeing Business Jet retrofitted with its Split Scimitar Winglets (SSW) is about to return to service.
