Business aviation services provider ExecuJet has gained a foothold in the UK market having secured the tender to run the fixed based operation at London Cambridge airport.
"The FBO is currently run by the Marshall Business Aviation but we will officially take over in January next year bringing our European FBO tally to nine," said ExecuJet Europe managing director, Cedric Migeon at the show this morning. "This tender allows us to expand our presence in the UK - home to our fastest growing aircraft operators certificate on which have ten aircraft." Migeon added. "Cambridge is a great airport," he continued. "It currently has 3,000 movements a year, which is expected to double in five years. It provides an excellent access point to the extensive local industrial, technological and business communities. It is also an excellent destination for London-based traffic."
The facilities at the two-year-old FBO include executive passenger lounges, boardroom facilities and dedicated crew facilities. There is also "plenty of hangar space" at the airport, Migeon said where ExecuJet plans to provide maintenance and service support for its customers.
For Cambridge airport managing director Archie Green, ExecuJet's arrival will "bring both a strong brand and extensive worldwide network to the airport where we will be able to call on its immense experience 24/7 at next summer's 2012 Olympic Games."
