Middle Eastern carriers Emirates and Flydubai have detailed the initial routes which will fall under their codeshare tie-up.

The two Dubai-based operators had disclosed earlier this year that they planned an extensive collaboration between their networks.

Twenty-nine destinations, on three continents, feature in the initial phase of the partnership.

Six routes are Russian – to Krasnodar, Samara, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov-on-Don and Ekaterinburg – while several others are in eastern Europe.

These include the Ukrainian cities of Kiev and Odessa, as well as Belgrade, Sofia, Skopje, Sarajevo, Prague and Bucharest.

Emirates says the codeshares will also extend to five Iranian routes as well as links to Oman, Kuwait and Iraq. The other connections cover cities in India, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Eritrea and South Sudan.
