Transavia has launched a German domestic route as part of a network expansion at Munich, where the Air France-KLM subsidiary has located its first base outside France and the Netherlands.

The low-cost carrier says it began flights between Munich and Berlin Schonefeld on 30 May, and that the service is being operated twice daily during weekdays and once a day during weekends.

Transavia has additionally launched routes from Munich to Alicante, Bari, Catania, Dubrovnik, Lisbon, Palermo and Valencia.

Network expansion comes as the airline doubles its Munich-based fleet to four aircraft.

The station was established in March by Transavia's Dutch arm.
