The newest and largest member of the 767 family, the 767-400ER, entered revenue service with Delta Airlines on 1 May, flying between Fort Lauderdale, and New York La Guardia airports. The -400ER was designed to fit La Guardia's gate structure. Only minor modifications were needed to taxiways and lighting to accommodate the aircraft's longer turning radius and higher gross weight. Delta has orders for up to 45.
