BAE Systems' Avionics Group's Mi-172 cockpit demonstrator is at the show for the first time, resplendent in new livery.
The group concluded a joint marketing agreement for the Mi-172 medium-utility and transport helicopter with Kazan Helicopters and Kelowna Flightcraft during 2003.
The Mi-172 is a new version of the Mi-17 'Hip' built by Kazan and equipped with a BAE Systems integrated mission system and a Kelowna Flightcraft glass cockpit and automated flight control system.
These will give the aircraft enhanced all-weather and day/night capabilities, while reducing pilot workload and operating and through-life costs.
The cockpit demonstrator on display is fully representative of the planned Mi-172 production standard, with Martin Baker replacement light-weight crew seats.
