2010 was the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain -Britain's 'finest hour'. Flightglobal marked the event with a dedicated page of content detailing the history already charted in our pdf archive, plus videos and images, while RIAT celebrated with flying displays including dogfights, a flypast and a 'missing man' formation with Hurricanes, Spitfires Messerschmitts.

Visitors to the air tattoo enjoyed a Battle of Britain Village where re-enactors recreate the sights and sounds of England in 1940, complete with a static display of historic aircraft, military vehicles and period entertainment.

Flightglobal decamped to Oshkosh at the end of July where the industry celebrated the 75th anniversaries of two iconic aircraft; the B-17 Flying Fortress and the DC-3.

Last year in January was the 40th anniversary of the Boeing 747 entering commercial service with Pan Am and Flightglobal encouraged its users to join a facebook group to keep up to date with its coverage of the anniversary.

And Airline Business magazine celebrated 25 years of bringing you news and market analyses from the industry.
