Boeing has chosen Goodrich to provide the landing gear, wheels and brakes for the 747-8 family. Goodrich, which builds the gear for the 747-400, will manufacture the nose, wing and body landing gear for the -8. The first delivery is expected in 2008. Goodrich says it will redesign components to support the -8’s higher gross weight. The award coincided with the release by Boeing of the first 747-8 engineering drawings.
