AerFin and SR Technics have expanded their co-operation to cover component repairs for CFM International CFM56-5B and -7B engines.

In 2015, the companies formed a joint venture to support Airbus A340-200/300 operators with airframe, engine and component maintenance services centred on deployment of used material to lower MRO costs for aircraft nearing the end of their service lives.

A340-200/300s are exclusively powered by CFM56-5C engines.

Now, AerFin says it has signed a long-term engine component repair agreement with the Swiss MRO provider, covering CFM56-5B and -7B engines which power A320-family and 737 narrowbodies.

Earlier this year, UK asset management specialist AerFin revealed that it had acquired from Aero Capital Solutions a CFM56-7B which had previously been in service with Brazilian carrier Gol. The engine is being disassembled at SR Technic's Zurich headquarters, says AerFin.

Sales marketing James Bennett describes SR Technics as a "key strategic partner".
