Airbus says that the A330-200 Freighter has weighed in 500kg (1,100lb) lighter than expected, which will directly translate into an increase in payload.

The airframer made the revelation during a September programme performance review in Toulouse, where customers were allowed to inspect the first A330-200F off the line. Airbus has also confirmed that the 64t payload freighter is on schedule to make its first flight in November.

Certification is expected in spring 2010, with the first delivery to follow in July to launch operator Etihad Airways.
