Goodrich is showcasing its SmartDisplay Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) among the commercial aircraft components and solutions it is offering to potential customers at Asian Aerospace.

The EFB provides class 2 and 3 EFB functionality, which includes terminal charts, electronic viewer, performance calculation tools, video surveillance, weather applications and an en-route chart, says Goodrich.

Its EFB also allows an affordable upgrade to ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance broadcast) compliance, which is required by the Next Generation Air Transportation System that will be implemented in the USA's airspace.

Goodrich is promoting its electronics, interior components and maintenance, repair and overhaul locations in the region at Asian Aerospace. The company is preparing to open a new 170,000ft2 facility in Tianjin, China this year. This is on top of existing facilities in Xiamen, Beijing and Hong Kong, it says. It also has facilities in Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Bandung.

Goodrich is one of the suppliers on the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) C919 programme, which is scheduled to have its first flight in 2014 and enter into service in 2016. It is providing the exterior and interior lighting system on the aircraft.

"The full array of lighting supplied includes the complete exterior, cockpit, compartment, cargo, emergency and the interior lighting with LED wash lights," says Goodrich. "Product experts will be on hand to discuss our different lighting systems alongside our passenger service units (PSU) on display for the commercial marketplace."
