US maintenance, repair and overhaul provider AAR today confirmed the signing of a letter of intent with SuperJet International to become a service centre for the Sukhoi SuperJet 100.

During the Paris Airshow last month Superjet International executives said the company has signed letters of intent with eight maintenance providers across 17 facilities. AAR, Aveos, ExelTech and Sabena Technics were among those companies.

At the time the company chief Alessandro Fanzoni said Superjet International also had signed its first memorandum of understanding with a maintenance facility to support the Superjet 100.

Through the letter of intent with Superjet AAR has agreed to supply Superjet operators with heavy airframe maintenance, modifications, interior and exterior refurbishments and unscheduled and overnight maintenance. AAR also plans to offer operators field teams for off-site support.
