Mubadala Aerospace's maintenance subsidiaries, Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies and SR Technics, have arranged the sale-and-leaseback of auxiliary power units and other rotable inventory, worth around $50 million, with their component and engine leasing sister company Sanad Aero Solutions.

The stock, which includes both existing and additional future equipment, will be used for component full-support agreements with Turkey's Onur Air, Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways and Maximus Air Cargo as well as potential new customers.

These contracts cover equipment for a number of models, including Airbus A320/A330/A340 and Boeing 737/777 aircraft, said Sanad chief executive Troy Lambeth.

Last year, Air Berlin inked a sale-and-lease-back arrangement for up to 12 spare engines with Sanad as part of a full-support engine MRO contract for its CFM International CFM56-5B (A320-family), CFM56-7B (737) and Pratt & Whitney PW4168 (A330) powerplants with SR Technics.
