AEI adds STAECO to freighter conversion network

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has selected Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company (STAECO) as an authorised conversion centre to conduct Boeing 737-800 passenger-to-freighter conversion works.

The addition of STAECO into AEI's network marks the firm's first foray into Asia-Pacific.

STACO also joins three other AEI authorised conversion centres, where it has two facilities in the United States and one in Canada.

“As we gear up production for the 737-800SF program, we needed to expand our conversion line capacity,” says Robert Convey, AEI's senior vice-president of sales and marketing. “STAECO is perfectly situated to serve the broader Asia-Pacific region and is an expert in narrowbody maintenance and modifications with vast experience performing cargo conversions.”

Located at Jinan Yaoqiang airport in Shandong, China, STAECO provides heavy maintenance support for 737s, Airbus A320-family, Bombardier CRJ200/700, and Saab 340s. It also does work on cargo conversions, structural modifications, interior refurbishments, and avionics upgrades.
