The first of 12 Boeing Next Generation 737s for Air Algérie is being prepared for delivery at Boeing Field near Seattle. The Algerian flag carrier, which has seven 737-800s (pictured) and five 737-600s on order, will use the new aircraft to replace its ageing fleet of 727-200s and 737-200s. Deliveries will continue through 2002.

Singapore-based lessor Avation has ordered 10 ATR 72-600s and signed purchase rights for another 24 examples.
