Air Baltic has handed heavy maintenance work on its Bombardier Q400 fleet to Chorus Aviation’s Jazz Technical Services.

Jazz will provide airframe maintenance support to 12 Q400s from the Latvian carrier’s fleet.

It will conduct the work from its facility at Halifax, which includes a six-bay work zone.

Air Baltic senior vice-president of technical operations Andris Vaivads says the maintenance company has experience in cold-weather operations, adding that this is “characteristic” of its own Baltic market.

Chorus Aviation is the parent company of regional operator Jazz, which has a large Q400 fleet.
