Air Canada took delivery of the first of 45 93-seat Embraer 190s last week, making it the first North American airline to operate two models from the Brazilian manufacturer’s E-Jet family.
The carrier already flies the E-175, and is scheduled to take delivery in January of its 15th and final 73-seater on order. Delivery of the final E-190, which have a nine-seat business class cabin, is due in late 2007.

Boeing engineers insist they are confident in the long-term structural integrity of the 787’s composite fuselage, saying extensive testing and examination has shown that the fuselages retain durability far longer than most airlines will ever fly the jets.
US charter carrier IAero Airways has formally filed for liquidation after ceasing operations and reaching an agreement to sell assets, including its Boeing 737 fleet.
Kazakhstan carrier Air Astana has agreed a partnership deal with Italian leisure carrier Neos, including a codeshare and service co-operation on Boeing 787 flights next year.
