Air Canada took delivery of the first of 45 93-seat Embraer 190s last week, making it the first North American airline to operate two models from the Brazilian manufacturer’s E-Jet family.

The carrier already flies the E-175, and is scheduled to take delivery in January of its 15th and final 73-seater on order. Delivery of the final E-190, which have a nine-seat business class cabin, is due in late 2007.
