Air France is to conduct its inaugural Airbus A380 service on 20 November, and is to auction seats on board for its 'street children' charity.

The aircraft will operate from Paris Charles de Gaulle to New York JFK, and return the following day.

Air France will introduce a twice-daily service on the route, six days per week, from 23 November, operating as AF006 and AF007.

The carrier says it will open an auction in October for 380 seats on the first flights, adding that the profits will be put towards the Air France Foundation.

This organisation was established in 1992 and has funded dozens of projects to assist sick and destitute children in Latin America, Asia, the Caribbean and parts of Europe.
