Air India Express will take delivery of six leased Boeing 737-800s in 2016.

The low-cost operator will receive the first aircraft in March, with the final one to arrive in November, said India’s Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma in response to a parliamentary question.

He did not specify where the aircraft will be sourced from, however GECAS announced in March that it had signed an agremeent lease three 737-800s to the carrier.

Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer shows that Air India Express operates 17 Boeing 737-800s.
