Air India plans to start a daily direct service between New Delhi and two Australian cities during November or December.

The airline has yet to decide whether it will operate on a New Delhi-Sydney-Melbourne route or a New Delhi-Melbourne-Sydney route, says an Air India official.

The carrier will operate the routes to Australia using Boeing 787 aircraft, the Air India official adds.

The airline originally planned to launch the service in September, but did not specify reasons for the delay.

Schedules in Innovata show Air India will be the only operator on the New Delhi to Sydney and Melbourne routes.
