Air Lease has firmed up an order for eight additional Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, valued at almost $939 million at list prices.

The eight aircraft will take ALC's 737 Max orderbook to 138, says Boeing.

"These aircraft perfectly fit ALC's and our airline lessees' growing need for additional 737 Max 8 aircraft. Our success in Max placements to date speaks to the strong market demand for these aircraft," says John Poerschke, executive vice-president of ALC.

Boeing has delivered four 737 Max aircraft to ALC, with the fifth to deliver in May.

Two of the four 737-8s are in service with Oman Air, while the other two are being operated by LOT Polish Airlines, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows. The fifth 737-8 to be delivered in May will also be operated by Oman Air.

ALC has placed more than 40 737 Max aircraft with operators, Flight Fleets Analyzer shows.
