Airbus expects that only a “limited number” of its aircraft sales will have export credit agency (ECA) cover in 2018, the manufacturer disclosed in its first quarter of 2018 results today.

ECA cover resumed for Airbus in the first quarter this year after an agreement was reached between the aircraft manufacturer and the European ECAs.

Airbus had previously faced a freeze on ECA support due to concerns regarding historic applications for the financing cover.

The company notes that appetite for commercial financing remains high.
