Airbus A330-200F freighter goes from strength to strength with a $3.5 billion order for 20 from Intrepid Aviation of Memphis – the biggest order to date for the type.
Freighter lessor Intrepid will take delivery from 2010 to 2012. It has opted for Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines for 17 of the aircraft but has kept three uncommitted on engine type in case a customer expressed a preference for an alternative.
Thai Airways International has also placed a firm order for eight additional A330-300s in a $1.5bn deal. At the same time it confirmed its commitment to its six-aircraft A380 order.
