Airbus delivered 88 aircraft over the first two months of 2019, an increase of 35% on the same point last year.

The airframer handed over 69 A320-family jets compared with the previous figure of 50, and its single-aisle output also included three A220s.

Fifty-two of the A320s produced were re-engined variants, comprising 36 A320neos and 16 A321neos.

In the long-haul sector Airbus delivered 14 A350s, among them a single -1000, as well as two A330s – a -200 and a -300.

It has yet to deliver any A330neos this year.

Airbus's production of 16 twin-aisle jets over the two months to 28 February was just above the 15 achieved during the same period in 2018.
