Airbus secured orders for 14 aircraft during May, including four A330-200s for leasing company CIT.

The airframer's backlog figures for the month record five firm A320s for Iberia and the five aircraft which formed part of a renegotiated A320 deal with South African Airways.

Airbus also listed its first cancellations for 2010, comprising four A319s and four A320s.

The changes take its gross order total for the first five months of the year to 81 aircraft, and its net total to 73.

Airbus delivered 206 aircraft over the period, almost frame-for-frame with the figure of 205 at the same point in 2009.

Its deliveries in May included two A380s, to Lufthansa and Emirates, bringing the total to six this year.
