British design house Thompson Solutions has announced its new economy seat - the Cozy Suite. Delta Air Lines will be launch customer for the offering and will roll out the product across its entire Boeing 767ER and 777 fleets starting in 2010.  Delta has exclusive rights in North America.

The new Cozy Suite will give each passenger two armrests.  Designed to help travellers to sleep, it has a contoured shoulder area and offers up to five inches extra knee space compared to standard seating designs of the same pitch.  It also sports a unique hands free tip-up seat base, which makes it easier to get in and out of window seats.

“The Cozy Suite will be a substantial improvement for our 767ER and 777 coach class customers, complementing Delta’s expanding global network,” says Jake Frank, Delta’s managing director of global product development and delivery.  “We’re upgrading and updating our customer experience across the board.

Thompson’s founder James Thompson says: "Delta is an experienced and customer focused airline, and, as with our business class Vantage product, they immediately identified the comfort the Cozy Suite offers their worldwide customers.”

Delta has also announced plans to install the Vantage full-flat bed seat in its international business class product on its B767-400 fleet from early 2009.
