Singapore Airlines has started twice-weekly services to both Cairns and Macau using A310 aircraft.

SilkAir has launched a twice-weekly service between Singapore and Vientiane in Laos with Fokker 70s.

ANA is seeking regulatory approval to start services between Osaka/Kansai and Rome. The carrier has also completed the link with British Airway's Executive Club frequent flyer programme. The UK carrier has been in ANA's scheme since October 1994.

Jet Airways, the Indian independent, is establishing a second hub at Delhi. The carrier has launched a daily Delhi-Bangalore service, and increased flights to its Bombay hub.

British Airways is to start four weekly services between London/Gatwick and Malta from May 1996 operated by franchisee GB Airways. The UK major also has plans to introduce new transatlantic services to Phoenix and Arizona from London/Gatwick next spring.

Deutsche BA, BA's German alliance partner, starts a service between London/Gatwick and Berlin in early 1996.

KLM plans to start a service to Addis Ababa, subject to Ethiopian government approval. Elsewhere, Transavia has taken over the Tunis-Amsterdam route from its parent KLM.

Maersk Air is to launch daily services from Billund to Paris/CDG using B737-500s.

El Al has launched three times weekly, fifth freedom services between London/

Stansted and Newark.

Air France is introducing new services from Paris to Krakow and Florence; Bordeaux-Strasbourg-Munich; and from Strasbourg to Berlin/

Tempelhof, Düsseldorf and Hamburg. The French carrier has also launched a service from Paris to Maputo.

SAS is bringing all its services at Newark into terminal B from early next year.

Delta Air Lines and Finnair will operate a codeshare and blockspace agreement on the Finnish carrier's service from Helsinki to New York.

Alta Airlines, a Chilean regional startup based in Santiago, has started services to Conception, Puerto Montt and Antofagasta using Beech 1900Cs.
