AIX: Brussels Airlines contracts ABC for A330 cabin branding

Brussels Airlines' retrofit programme for its fleet of Airbus A330 long-haul twinjets is set to feature cabin branding elements from ABC International.

The Italian company is translating cabin concepts by UK design house JPA into flight-certified equipment.

Brussels Airlines and ABC first worked together in 2017, on Sukhoi Superjets leased from CityJet.

Olindo Spatola, ABC's vice-president for engineering and programmes, states: "This project is a further step to cement the relation between two companies that share a common outlook for the future of the cabin interiors industry."

Brussels Airlines' head of product development Eric Kergoat adds: "Investing in cabin interiors has become one of the main key strategies to enhance passengers' needs and expectations."

JPA Design's colour and materials lead Alessia Giardino states: "It is always fascinating to collaborate with companies able to transform our concept design in to a real product, combining expertise on technical design and manufacturing processes."

A330 brand-panel variants being delivered by ABC include "wood effect" and art nouveau-pattern pieces made from CNC-machined aluminium and Sekisui polycarbonates for business and economy-class cabins.
