Pitch Aircraft Seating’s PF3000 seat is to be a linefit item on the Antonov 148/158 family – a breakthrough for the seat manufacturer.

Doy says the PF3000 typically saves 5kg (11lb) per seat compared with the previous generation of seats. “We’re also able to offer a 28in pitch, which means the An-158 will be able to fitted with 102 seats.”

The PF3000 uses moulded EPP foam, providing a full 3D form leading to greater comfort and support. The interlocking of the seatback and pan creates an energy-absorbing structure.

Alongside the deal with Antonov, Pitch has signed a contract with leasing company, SAAL, to retrofit the Antonov 158s of two different Latin American airlines. “This partnership allows us to modernise the interior of the Antonov 148/158 cabin for our clients in Latin America. The Pitch brand has a reputation for innovation and design with its highly durable efficient fixed back seat,” says Ralf-Dieter Montag-Girmes, president of the SAAL. “This retrofit will allow our lessees to operate the aircraft in a very efficient way given the attractive value for money and excellent five-year warranty on offer.”

Since Pitch began delivering to operators in 2014, it has placed almost 3,000 seats into the market.
