Alliance Airlines has retained a key contract with BHP’s Nickel West division to provide fly-in, fly-out transport to its mines in Western Australia for five more years.

The carrier first started serving Nickel West’s mines at Mount Keith and Leinster in November 2006.

“As our first contract in Western Australia we appreciate the support that BHP Nickel West afforded us back in 2006 and we continue to provide them with services that are the best on-time performance in the industry,” says Alliance chief executive Lee Schofield.

It caps off a number of contract extensions that the carrier has won from resource charter clients this year, including St Barbara, Incitec Pivot and BHP’s Iron Ore division.

It also extended a contact with US luxury tour company Tauck that will see it operate a minimum of 70 charter flights per year between 2019 and 2021.

Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that Alliance operates a fleet of 34 Fokker aircraft, comprising 21 F100s, nine F70s and four F50s.
