Ampex Data Systems (Stand A1200) is showing its heavy-duty airborne tape cassette recorders at the show. The leader in magnetic storage recording devices has on display the high performance models DCRSi 75, 107, 120 and 240. The DCRSi range supports a sustained throughput rate of up to 20 megabyte/second and stores 50 gigabyte of data in DCRSi cassettes. The DCRSi recorder is used for flight test, strategic and tactical airborne reconnaissance, remote sensing, anti-submarine warfare and satellite data collection.
Ampex is also exhibiting the DIS and DST mass storage data/instrumentation digital cartridge tape recorders and automated robotic libraries with storage capacities in excess of 12.5 terabytes of data with sustained throughput rates of 20 megabytes/second.
