Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 58 new orders for May 2012.

It was another relatively slow month for aircraft orders following a quiet March and April. Air Lease Corporation ordered 36 Airbus A320neo aircraft during the month. Pakistan International Airlines and Taiwan’s Eva Air placed orders for the Boeing 777-300ER with five and three respectively, while BOC aviation ordered a single A320-200.

In the regional sector, Brazilian carrier Passaredo Linhas Aereas ordered ten ATR72-600s while Ukrainian MRK Airlines ordered three Xian MA60s.

Overall, the order backlog for airliners ended May at 9,505, down 49 on the previous month.
