Iceland's Grimsvotn volcano appears to have ceased erupting, according to preliminary information from the London Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre (VAAC).

In a series of charts on its website, VAAC said that at 02:00GMT it appeared that the "eruption may have ceased".

VAAC added that the "plume is not visible on the radar" and it is now awaiting confirmation that the eruption has indeed ceased.

It plans to issue a further advisory at 12:00GMT.
