AeroVironment has received a $13.5 million contract modification from the US Army for its RQ-11B Raven unmanned air system.

Under the award, the army wants the delivery of systems, spares and payloads to be completed by 15 September.

Each Raven system consists of three 2kg (4.5lb) air vehicles, two ground control stations and spares, but AeroVironment has not said exactly how many systems the new contract covers. The company had received three prior orders against the same contract, starting in May 2012, for a total of $59.6 million.
