Bental Industries has launched its MicroBat Mark 2 sensor payload at the show with new features including manual focus and water resistance.

Tested to a depth of over 6ft the MicroBat Mark 2 could be used with unmanned vehicles that land or operate in part in water while for normal operation the unit has improved image stabilisation and manually operated focus. The focus can also be set to an automatic mode, its original default setting.

"We have four customers waiting for the first deliveries. One of them is a US government agency," says Bental marketing and sales manager Moshe Poolat.

The Mark 2 is the same price as the original product it replaces and Bental has started a new production line for the second version. The MicroBat can be used by small electrically-powered UAVs and currently is offered by Innocon on its Micro Falcon. Poolat added that the Micro Falcon would use the Mark 2 MicroBat.
