Elmo Motion Control (booth 3351) of Israel is introducing at the show its Puma compact rugged MIL casing that provides motion control. Puma incorporates Elmo's Gold Lion military multi-axis network controller and two Gold Hornet military servo drives of up to 40A/100VDC. Puma "masters" these internal servo drives and can control up to 98 "external" additional servo drives via an EtherCAT or CANopen field bus, says the Tel Aviv-based company. The device forms part of Elmo's ExtrIQ range for applications operating in extreme environmental conditions. Elmo has meanwhile enhanced its standard Hornet military servo drives for applications requiring high-power pulses out of a compact package.

"The huge difference is in its ultra-small size, yet high power density," says Haim Monhait, Elmo CEO.

The B-Hornet boosts the standard 20A/120V Hornet to 40A/120V, yet weighs only 1.8 oz (50 g) and can "burst" over 4 kilowatts of power to military applications such as UAVs and other unmanned vehicles.

Finally, Elmo is introducing a range of ruggedized 1-4 axis servo drive solutions for military applications.
