BAA launches another appeal against selling London Stansted

UK airports operator BAA is to once again appeal against the Competition Commission's ruling that it must sell London Stansted.

The UK Competition Appeal Tribunal on 1 February dismissed BAA's earlier appeal, forcing the operator to sell Stansted alongside Edinburgh Airport.

But BAA said yesterday that it has now initiated proceedings against the 1 February judgement.

"BAA believes that the judgement is flawed and is seeking to appeal the judgement," said the airports operator in a statement.

BAA, which operates London Heathrow, has already sold London Gatwick and has opted to sell Edinburgh after being told to sell either Edinburgh or Glasgow.
