Boeing flew its 747-400 Large Cargo Freighter (LCF) for the first time on 9 September, from Taipei's international airport. The 2h 4min flight marked the start of a 250h flight test programme for the heavily modified aircraft, which was converted by Evergreen Aviation Technologies. Boeing has commissioned three LCFs to carry 787 assemblies between manufacturing plants in Charleston, South Carolina Grottaglie, Italy Nagoya, Japan and Wichita, Kansas, before flying them to Boeing's final assembly plant in Everett, Washington.
