Boeing is tentatively planning to debut the 787 and 747-8F alongside one another at the Farnborough air show in July, subject to both aircraft's flight-test programmes remaining on track.
The 787, which had its long-delayed first flight in mid-December, could spend as long as a day and a half at the show, marking the all-composite twinjet's first appearance at an international air show, say industry sources familiar with the plans.
The 747-8F took to the skies in February and is expected to join the 787 at Farnborough, they add.

It could also make its first appearance in Europe in May at an event marking the 40th anniversary of the original 747's entry into service, say the sources.
Senior Boeing executives said in January that it was "too early" to say whether the 787 would be exhibited at Farnborough.
