Embraer counted yesterday a red letter day at Paris air show as it concluded a range of deals worth a total of $1.7 billion.
The biggest deal was with Brazilian airline BRA Transportes Aéreos when they signed a preliminary commercial agreement for 20 firm orders of the E-195 jet, plus 20 options.

The final contract for this transaction should be finalised shortly, Embraer says. The value of the deal, at list price, is $730 million, and could reach $1.46 bn, if all options are confirmed.
The new BRA E-195 E-Jets will be configured with 118 single-class seats, with deliveries scheduled to start in the second semester of 2008. With the announcement, BRA will be the first Brazilian airline to operate E-Jets in Brazil.

BRA has also signed a leasing contract with GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) to operate two other new E-195s. First delivery of the leased E-Jets will occur in the first half of 2008.
“We are honoured by BRA’s decision to select the Embarer 195 and pleased that this world class product will be serving Brazilian passengers,” says Frederico Fleury Curado, Embraer president and chief executive.
