CAE has opened a new training centre in Barcelona, its third training location in Spain.

The facility, which has an Airbus A320 full-flight simulator, will be able to train more than 600 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew a year. It is expandable to four simulator bays, says CAE.

CAE's new facility is close to Vueling Airlines, the main customer of the training centre. Its pilots and cabin crew are currently undergoing training at the facility, which will be available to other A320 operators as well.

"Spain is a very important civil aviation market in Europe and we are pleased to add a new location to deliver training in the Catalan region for our customers," says Jeff Roberts, CAE's group president, civil simulation products, training and services. "CAE has a long association with Vueling and we are pleased to expand our partnership near its main operations in Barcelona."
