China Aircraft Leasing (CALC) has signed with Airbus for 50 A320neos in a deal worth $5.42 billion at list prices.

The aircraft will be delivered in stages during 2023, says the Chinese lessor in a statement.

It adds that the group will purchase another 15 A320neos in January 2018, subject to the fulfillment of "certain conditions". Today's 50 aircraft order brings CALC's total order book with Airbus to 202 aircraft.

It did not list the engine selection for the jets.

"This bulk purchase will significantly expand CALC's fleet portfolio and further solidify our position as a full value-chain aircraft solutions provider. Currently the majority of our fleet comes from direct purchase from manufacturers and that will remain the major source of our new aircraft," says CALC chief executive Mike Poon.
