Bombardier's CSeries aircraft will ultimately be an asset that the capital markets can finance, the manufacturer's vice-president of commercial operations Ross Mitchell argued today.

During a panel discussion at the ISTAT Europe conference in Barcelona, Mitchell said a capital-markets CSeries deal had yet to be seen because the aircraft was still at the beginning of its life, with relatively few deliveries.

Indeed, the type's launch customer "took care of those aircraft themselves", Mitchell adds.

However, as more of the variant are delivered, especially into North America, capital-market financings will happen, he predicts.
