Santiago de Chile-based low-cost carrier Jetsmart has delayed the launch of flights to Argentina due to delays in delivery of an Airbus A320 needed to operate five planned routes.

Jetsmart's flights from Santiago to Cordoba have been delayed to 21 December from 14 December, while service on a short route between Santiago and Mendoza has been pushed back from 11 December to 17 December.

Flights from La Serena to Cordoba will start on 30 December instead of 17 December, and Jetsmart has delayed the start of service from La Serena to Mendoza by several days, to 21 December from 17 December.

The only exception is Jetsmart's flight from Santiago to Buenos Aires’ new low-cost airport in El Palomar, which will now launch on 27 December instead of in January 2019.

The changes are related to later-than-expected deliveries of an Airbus A320 that is currently undergoing maintenance in Bogota. All passengers holding tickets on affected flights can chose between refund or rebooking.
