Capital Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines have applied to launch long-haul services this year.

Capital Airlines is seeking rights for a thrice-weekly service between Beijing and Helsinki from May. These will be operated using Airbus A330s and A350s.

Shenzhen Airlines meanwhile wants to start thrice-weekly Shenzhen-London services in December, using A330s.

The Chinese regulator is seeking comments to the applications by 27 February.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows that Capital Airlines will compete with Finnair to Helsinki while Shenzhen Airlines will be the only operator to London.
