Collins Aerospace has added a wired option to its Stage on-demand wireless in-flight entertainment product, and has for the first time carried out a line-fit installation of the system on a Dassault Falcon.
The wired version of the system recently entered service on a new Falcon business jet after being installed at the factory.
Previously, Stage wirelessly delivered in-flight entertainment options including movies and TV shows to smartphones and tablets. The addition of a wired option means it can be easily integrated with Collins' Venue cabin management system to display content on overhead monitors and seatback screens.
"Stage on demand has always stood out in the market by providing customers with the same kind of streaming experience they have on the ground – access to blockbuster movies, popular television shows, sports feeds, games and music," says Jon Kounkel, director of cabin systems at Collins Aerospace.
"By offering both wired and non-wired options we're simplifying access to in-flight entertainment while providing customers with more flexibility."
Collins will be displaying Stage on its stand at EBACE.
