Comac has signed a financing framework agreement with the China Exim Bank.

In a short statement, the Chinese airframer says the two parties will collaborate on the financial aspects of the development, manufacturing and sales of indigenous aircraft.

Local media reports say the framework covers a lending facility of up to CNY50 billion ($7.87 billion).

China Exim Bank’s chairman Hu Xiaolian says it is a Chinese dream to bring an indigenous commercial airliner to the skies, and that the bank will support Comac’s development.

Comac is working to deliver the first commercial production ARJ21-700 regional jet to launch customer Chengdu Airlines this year, and for its C919 narrowbody to take its first flight in 2016.
