Mountaintop Technologies will demonstrate the Bombardier CL-415 amphibian to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and Northeast Counterdrug Training Center under a $6 million contract. Northrop Grumman is to install dual microwave landing systems in three French navy E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft under a $13.8 million contract. Thales Communications is to supply 90 NATO-interoperable Saturn anti-jam V/UHF radios to equip French army Aerospatiale Gazelle and Puma helicopters. Boeing is to investigate "high-impact" technologies - including combustors, fuels, materials and controls - for high-performance, low-emissions engines under a $13.3 million US Air Force Research Laboratory contract. Sikorsky is to supply the USAF with 39 swashplate assemblies for MH-53M helicopters in a deal valued at $5.7 million. Smiths Aerospace has been selected by Honeywell to supply the PCMCIA-based data transfer system for the US Army's Bell Helicopter Textron OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter. The $5 million contract covers development of the system and future production could run to 400 units. Smiths is also supplying the solid state power distribution unit (PDU) and fuel gauging systems for the Boeing X-45A UCAV. Embraer has selected the Goodrich Stormscope WX-1000E and JET standby attitude indicator for its EMB-314 Super Tucano trainer and light attack aircraft. They will be installed on all 99 aircraft planned for Brazil. FLIR Systems is to supply Star Safire II thermal-imaging systems to equip Royal Danish Air Force and Portuguese air force AgustaWestland EH101s under a $10 million contract. Portugal has also selected the Galileo Avionica APS-717 navigation and search radar. BAE Systems is to supply up to 40 APX-113 combined IFF interrogator/ transponder systems for South Korean air force Boeing F-15Ks under a $9 million contract.
